Ich bin auf dem Gebiet CSS Layout auch Anfängerin, und habe das gerade zum Üben versucht.
Was ich zu deiner Lösung noch anmerken wollte @Holger: Ich glaube man sollte id's pro html-Seite nicht zweimal vergeben, also daß eine Box mit einer id nur einmal in der Datei vorkommen sollte, das steht jedenfalls hier:
